Magicians (2018) is a collection of smaller everyday pieces made using the ancient enamelling technique cloisonné. The soft, flexible forms of tiny hands, arms and feet are inspired by the pliancy and gracefulness of illusion artists, clowns and circus performers. The eye-catching colour combinations are also as if borrowed from a vintage theatre closet. The euphoric frenzy of rich blue, green, yellow, and red is controlled by a soft silver border. This collection is a continuation of experiments with colourful enamel which I started with my degree show collection from 2017.
